Gone are the days that we do a couple of samples, confirm the house has a mould issue, provide a general report that could apply to almost any house, and pass the buck to a remediator. Your job is far more complicated than that.
WHY DO THE MOULD TESTING REFRESHER COURSE?
The ACES refresher course has been developed to address common issues faced by IEPs (mould testing technicians and building biologists) such as under-sampling, inconsistent lab interpretation, failure to identify the cause of the problem and/or provide specific instructions on how to get the property back to a pre-damaged state. If it has been 3 or more years since you completed the Mould testing course, chances are you are out of date.
This course will cover the following:
- What the new Australian Standard (2025) means to restorers and IEPs
- Changes to NATA accredited lab reporting and how to convert raw data
- Interpreting lab results – why the industries reliance on outdoor spore counts has got it wrong. Learn how to accurately interpret lab results
- Types of condensation and dampness – get the language write
- Thermal imaging – false positives and negatives
- Recovery levels – when is it ok for a restorer to test their own work?
- Preventing mould – what your clients should know
- Update on the latest health issues associated with water-damaged buildings
- Structured step-by-step approach to test WDB using a Mould App that will dramatically save time writing reports
- Insight into the PRV course
- Case studies to determine is it mould or allergens or something else?
You will receive:
- Downloadable Mould Testing Manual (2025)
- 12 week access to the pre-recorded powerpoint videos and pdfs
