Timetable – Building Biology (2022)

The Advanced Diploma of Building Biology (10913NAT) is a two-year full time / four-year part-time course consisting of eight online subjects (start anytime) and three subjects requiring live zoom sessions (refer to the schedule below).

ELECTROBIOLOGY TESTING TECHNICIAN COURSE

Prerequisite: must have completed Electricity Fundamentals subject (available online).

Investment: $1,995

To complete the subject, you will be required to participate in live zoom sessions before you are eligible to attend the field trip.

OPTION 1: attend ONE of the following field trips

  • Friday 9th December Venue: MelbourneVIC 
  • Sunday 11th December Venue: Sydney, NSW
OPTION 2: Hire the equipment from ACES and conduct an assessment of a home of your choice. The cost for one week’s hire is $295 (a refundable deposit of $400 required).
OPTION 3: If you have your own equipment you can conduct an assessment of a home of your choice.

MOULD TESTING TECHNICIAN COURSE
Prerequisite: none
Investment: $1,995
To complete the subject, you will be required to participate in live zoom sessions for 8 evenings and undertake the field training.

OPTION 1: attend ONE of the following field trips

  • Saturday 23rd July Venue: Sydney NSW
  • Sunday 24th July Venue: Melbourne VIC 
OPTION 2: Hire the equipment from ACES and conduct an assessment of a home. The cost for one week’s hire is $350 (includes 4 lab samples valued at $280). Refer to Terms and Conditions and fees. A refundable security deposit of $400 is required + out of pocket additional lab costs paid directly to the laboratory.
OPTION 3: If you have your own equipment (restorers, remediators, hygienists) you can conduct an assessment of a water-damaged home of your choice providing you conduct sufficient sampling to adequately assess the home.

SAMPLING METHODS SUBJECT

Prerequisite: must have completed the Air Pollution subject.

Investment: $1,995

To complete the subject, you will be required to participate in live zoom sessions over 5 evenings. You will then hire equipment from ACES (no extra cost, however refundable deposit of $400 is required) to conduct lead and chemical sampling of a home of your choice. No on-campus training is required.
